Senator Akobundu Calls For Adequate Funding Of The South East Development Commission Bill

A foremost politician in the South East and the nation, and the Senator representing Abia Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Augustine Okwudiri Akobundu, has despatched a clarion call to Mr President ,HE Ahmed Bola Tinubu, to adequately fund the South East Development Commission Bill which he assented to recently.
Speaking to a cross section of Senior Journalists in Umuahia, recently after one of his youths empowerment and development programs, Senator Akobundu urged Governors, Legislators and other critical stakeholders in the zone to avoid dissipating energy on the real sponsors of the Bill and join forces to persuade Mr President to fund the Bill adequately in order to fast forward development in the zone.
In the words of Senator Akobundu:”l commend Mr President,HE Ahmed Bola Tinubu, for graciously assenting to the South East Development Commission Bill .
The development is a landmark decision most capable of enthroning the all elusive genuine Rehabilitation, Reconciliation and Reconstruction of the South East, fifty four (54) years after the unfortunate civil war.Mr President’s gracious approval of the Bill paints an
indelible picture of a focused leader determined to positively reposition the South East Zone.l, therefore ,call on our Governors to leverage their positions and offices in Nigeria to galvanize Ministers , Legislators and other stakeholders to persuade Mr President to quickly fund the Commission to fast forward the much awaited development of the zone which has witnessed decades of marginalization, deprivation and under development.”.
The Senator who also expressed palpable need for all in authority in the South East to remember that elections are over and concentrate on youths development and empowerment ,across party lines,contended that the future of lgbo youths via empowerment and development programs should be of utmost importance to all.
It would be recalled that members of the Abia Central Senatorial Zone have been praising Senator Akobundu for leading the way in youths empowerment and scholarship ,across party lines.
On the spirited efforts of some politicians from the South East to de-market the proposed Street Protest across the country,Senator Akobundu advised lgbo youths, home and in the diaspora, to be cautious and avoid those who want to get them into harms way and regrettable circumstances .
Calling for caution, Senator Akobundu expressed his determination to attract more Federal presence that would put more smiles on the faces of the good people of Abia Central Senatorial Zone assuring that:”To whom much is given, much is also expected”
