Abia Rising : Governor Otti Announces 30-Day Countdown to Mass Commissioning of Legacy Projects
In a powerful message of progress and faith, Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has assured the people of Abia of a series of transformative infrastructure projects set for commissioning within the next 30 days.
Speaking during his 2nd Year Anniversary Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service at Ibeku High School, Umuahia, the Governor outlined a rollout of completed roads, health centres, schools, and urban revitalization plans.
Addressing a large congregation of worshippers, leaders, and stakeholders, Governor Otti listed over 200 Primary Healthcare Centres, 20 Smart Schools, and 221 retrofitted school buildings as some of the projects poised for immediate commissioning.
He emphasized that these developments are geared towards rebranding Umuahia into a befitting State Capital and eliminating the past stigma of it being a “glorified village.
“Umuahia will continue to wear a new look. Gone are the days when people said our State Capital looks like a glorified village—it will never be again, in Jesus name,” Governor Otti declared with conviction.
The Governor described the thanksgiving as an act of humility and gratitude to God for two years of visible transformation and divine guidance. “It’s very easy to take the blessing and forget the Source,” he said, invoking the biblical story of the healed lepers. “We’re here to say, ‘Thank You, Lord.’”
In a spiritually charged atmosphere, Rev. Sam Oye, Lead Pastor of The Transforming Church, prophesied continued economic explosion under Governor Otti’s leadership.
He recounted a 2022 divine revelation pointing to Abia’s emergence as a hub of prosperity, technology, and industrial revival.
“Abia shall become a centre for leather and garment production, the SME capital of Africa, a leading agricultural state, and Africa’s largest technology hub,” Rev. Oye proclaimed.
Also testifying was Pastor Amara Uwaeziozi, President of the Master’s Vessel Church Worldwide, who praised Governor Otti’s achievements in public service reform, peaceful traffic management, and road construction.
“In just two years, we are witnessing good governance. We will not allow it to be changed. If this continues, in 8 years, Abia will be unrecognizable in the best way,” Pastor Uwaeziozi asserted.
The thanksgiving service featured fervent prayers, praises led by Abia-born gospel singer Buchi, and music from various choirs, celebrating what many called a “New Dawn in Abia.”
As the 30-day countdown begins, all eyes remain on Governor Otti as he continues to redefine governance through infrastructure, innovation, and inclusive leadership.
