“Any Opposition In 2027 Is Taking a Big Risk” … Abia Transport Unions Declare Full Support For Governor Alex Otti In Massive Solidarity March

In a powerful show of solidarity, over two million transport operators and residents of Aba poured into the streets on Thursday in an unprecedented Two-Million Man March to celebrate the road infrastructural revolution of Governor Alex Otti, sending a clear message ahead of the 2027 elections: “No vacancy in Abia Government House.”

The rally, which began at Osisioma Junction and swept through Aba-Owerri Road to Asa Road, transformed the Enyimba city into a carnival of celebration, unity, and gratitude — all in honour of Governor Otti’s unprecedented achievements in just two years.

Leading the thunderous crowd, State President of the Cooperative Motor Union, Mr. Chukwuma Azode (aka China), made a bold declaration:

“With what we are seeing, no sensible politician should even think of contesting against His Excellency. Any opposition in 2027 is taking a very big risk. Abians are fully behind Governor Otti, and all transport unions across the state have endorsed him for a second term.”

Azode clarified that the march was non-political, bringing together supporters of Otti’s transformational leadership from across party lines, united by a common cause ,the governor’s visible impact on infrastructure, especially in the transport sector.

“This is not a political rally. This is a gathering of lovers of good governance. Within just two years, Dr. Alex Otti has done what others could not do in decades. Aba is changing, and investors are taking notice,” he added.

Victor Azubuike, Chairman of the Abia State Tricycle Operators Union (ASTOPU), echoed similar sentiments, praising the governor for ensuring smooth transportation across Aba.

“We, the transporters, are the biggest beneficiaries of the good roads. Our businesses are thriving again. This is why we’re out today , to say thank you.”

Dr. Obioma Nwaogbe, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transportation, highlighted the strategic importance of Aba in Governor Otti’s economic blueprint:

“Aba is the economic heartbeat of the East. It is no surprise that most of the infrastructure work is concentrated here. The roads being built are not just roads — they are economic corridors for traders, transporters, and investors.”

The euphoric march featured jubilant chants, cultural displays, banners of gratitude, and waves of appreciation from traders, residents, and commuters who lined the streets to cheer the celebrants. Many called the event “historic” and a sign that the people’s mandate remains firmly with Governor Otti.

From Osisioma to Asa Road, the message resonated loud and clear: Abia is on the move — and the people want Otti to stay the course.
