The Wife of Abia Governor, Mrs. Priscilla Otti, Inducted into Rotary Club of Umuahia Government House
The wife of the Governor of Abia State, Her Excellency Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, has commended Rotary International for its 
commitment to humanitarian service, community development, and the promotion of global goodwill.
Her Excellency gave the commendation during her formal induction as a member of the Rotary Club of Umuahia Government House, held at the Aguiyi Ironsi Hall, Finbarrs Road, Umuahia. The ceremony was officiated by the District Governor of Rotary District 9142 (2024–2025), Rotarian Augustine Nnonyelu.
In her remarks, Mrs. Otti described her induction into the Rotary family as a significant milestone in her lifelong dedication to humanitarian service. She emphasized that joining Rotary was a deliberate and heartfelt commitment to broaden the reach of her philanthropic endeavors, ensuring that more vulnerable individuals experience the transformative power of compassion and collective goodwill.
“I made a conscious decision to join this noble organization as part of my broader mission to touch more lives, restore hope to the hopeless, and give a voice to the voiceless. As a Rotarian, I am even more committed to being a beacon of light in places of darkness, to lifting the fallen, and to creating opportunities where none existed,” she stated.
Her Excellency further praised the administration of Governor Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, for its people-centered policies and exceptional focus on human capital development, particularly the declaration of free and compulsory education for every child in Abia State.
“Our administration believes that education is the surest pathway out of poverty, and we are committed to ensuring that every Abia child, regardless of background, has the opportunity to dream, to learn, and to thrive,” she affirmed.
Speaking during the event, District Governor Rotarian Augustine Nnonyelu described Her Excellency’s acceptance into Rotary as a significant blessing to the organization, citing her longstanding record of selfless service to humanity. He commended her for breaking barriers, fostering unity, and inspiring hope across Abia State, while praying for divine wisdom and strength to sustain her efforts.
Similarly, the President of the Rotary Club of Umuahia Government House, Rotarian Love Ezema, mni, lauded Governor Alex Otti and Her Excellency for their unwavering commitment to improving the lives of Abians through various charitable initiatives. She noted that their passion for humanity resonates perfectly with the spirit and ideals of Rotary International. Rotarian Ezema also appreciated the District Governor for honoring the club with his presence.
In a heartfelt vote of thanks, the Vice President of the club, Rotarian Amara Onubuogu, expressed profound gratitude to Her Excellency for embodying the true essence of Rotary through her compassion and generosity. He prayed for greater strength and grace as she continues her impactful journey of service.
The ceremony featured the formal induction and decoration of Her Excellency with Rotary insignia and was graced by an array of distinguished guests, including the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adaeze Emetu, top government officials, and members of the Rotary community.
