Comrade Nelson Nwafor Elected Southeast Zonal Coordinator Of PWYP Nigeria

The Foundation for Environmental Rights, Advocacy and Development (FENRAD) has extended hearty congratulations to its Executive Director, Comrade Nelson Nnanna Nwafor, following his election as the Southeast Zonal Coordinator of Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Nigeria.

The election, which took place during the national coalition meeting of PWYP Nigeria, marks a powerful endorsement of Comrade Nwafor’s tireless efforts in environmental justice, transparency, and good governance in the extractive industries. His new position places him at the helm of coordinating civil society action and accountability campaigns across the five Southeastern states: Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo.

With over a decade of passionate civic engagement, Comrade Nwafor has led FENRAD in pushing boundaries in anti-corruption, climate advocacy, and community rights. His emergence as PWYP Zonal Coordinator is not just a personal triumph, but a validation of FENRAD’s rising influence in natural resource governance and civic accountability in Nigeria.

In his new capacity, he will spearhead policy dialogue, grassroots mobilization, and capacity building efforts aimed at ensuring that extractive revenues work for the people—particularly for marginalized communities in the Southeast.
