Aba La Ohazu People Endorse Governor Otti For Second Term In Office Say They Are Solidly Behind Him

The people of Aba La Ohazu, comprising the two Local Government Areas of Aba North and Aba South Local Government Areas have unanimously endorsed Governor Alex Otti for a second term in office.

The people made their stand known on Sunday, April 19th, when a delegation of stakeholders, traditional rulers, women groups and youths, representing the entire villages in Aba North and South LGAs led by the Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa paid a “Thank You ” and solidarity visit to Governor Alex Otti in his office.

Conveying the message of the people on behalf of the political class, a former T.C Chairman and stakeholders chairman of the PDP in Aba, Elder Chima Mbama popular called ‘Oshemhole of Aba, a former zonal Chairman of ADC, Chief Charles Nwanyanwu and a former Permanent Secretary of the Abia State Civil Service, Dr Mrs Chidinma Nwogu among others, acknowledged how Governor Otti has fixed Aba, particularly, the Ohanku road, Port Harcourt road and many other roads too numerous to mention and said that Governor Otti is their sole candidate for 2027 governorship election.

Elder Mbama in particular, while pointing out that the Governor has reinvented Aba to a very clean city through his environmental cleanliness policy and redefined governance, saying that the Governor has set a standard in governance, hence, the opposition in the State are looking for a suitable candidate to challenge him, but emphasised that they would not find any.

“You have set a standard that they cannot meet up with. Your next four years is assured.

“Aba North and South will determine your victory in 2027,” Elder Mbama stated.

Speaking on behalf of the traditional rulers of Aba La Ohazu, Eze Love Nwogu of Aba North and Eze Njoku of Aba South said that their people appreciate the infrastructural development Governor Otti has brought into Aba and the positive results and economic growth they now witness in Aba, because of the works of the Governor.

They said that, apart from road infrastructure, the Governor has brought permanent solution to the life threatening gully erosion menace at Ovom, Ogbor-hill, Aba and has actually commenced work on the Enyimba Radisson Hotel facility

Eze Nwogu added that all that the Governor has done in Aba are true demonstration of his love for the Aba people, assuring that they would mobilise the people to ensure that his reelection is achieved.

“Otti must go again. Governor must go again. This election, it is unopposed for Governor Otti,” Eze Nwogu stated.

Introducing the delegation and his people to the Governor earlier, the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Emeruwa said that his people came with one purpose, which is their resolve to support him for reelection in 2027.

While noting that the people that came are a delegation and representatives of all the villages that make of the Aba La Ohazu, the Rt. Hon. Speaker assured that the Aba Ngwa people are solidly with him.

“If there is any doubt you (Gov. Otti) have, that doubt has to disappear

“And all of them, the delegates have all registered in the ongoing Labour Party Online registration exercise, Rt. Hon. Emeruwa stated.

Responding, the Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti thanked the people of Aba La Ohazu for their consistent support for him, saying that he has always won elections in Aba, right from 2015 when he started contesting for the governorship position.

Governor Otti, who appreciated them for acknowledging his modest efforts in the State, said that one of the major reasons he left his job to contest for governorship was to fix Aba.

He assured that work would resume in Omuma road with full force as he is handling the challenge been witnessed there, adding that work in Uratta road would soon receive attention as the road is under the ABSIID project, which would soon commence.

Governor Otti challenged them to ensure that eligible individuals obtain their Permanent Voters Card while enjoining them to participate in the ongoing Labour Party online registration.

“I want to thank all of you for this visit and reassure you that there is still a whole lot of things to do.

“The Uratta road and the Old Express, of course we have almost concluded the funding, the funding is available, but there are steps we must take, because they come into the ABSIID projects.

“It’s not something you just move in, but we are almost done. We are going to flag-off the construction.

“I want to challenge all of us to ensure that every part of Abia State gets registered for PVC, particularly those ones that are turning 18, and then get registered in the Labour Party,” Gov. Otti stated.

In a vote of thanks, the Mayor of Aba South, Chief Obialor Anyanwu saluted Governor Otti for the opportunity granted his people to meet with him, and thanked him for the human and infrastructural development in Aba and said that, his government has favoured Aba greatly.

He assured that the Aba La Ohazu people would mobilise the people to return him in office in 2027.

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi, immediate past member that represented Aba North/South Federal Constituency, Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike, former Mayor of Aba South, Chief Uche Nwogu and other sons of Aba La Ohazu, including former Aba North LGA PDP Chairman – Barr. Nkaru, former PDP stalwarts, Chief Uchenna Ukwuzor, Chief Israel Aguwa, traditional rulers, women, youths among many others were present at the meeting.
