Civil/Public Servants have been enjoined to
abstain from demanding money or other forms of gratification from the public in exchange for services
The Head of Service, Mr Benson Ojeikere while addressing staff in Umuahia, said it is unacceptable for Civil Servants to use their positions for personal gains, declaring that such behavior will no longer be condoned.
Mr Ojeikere who asserted that Civil/Public Servants found guilty of demanding bribes or other forms of gratification from the public will face the full weight of the law urged the public to report any act of corruption using the Service email betterrservice@abiastate.gov.ng.com.
Mr Ojeikere reminded the workforce that the present administration’s zero-tolerance policy to corruption is non negotiable maintaining that any civil or public servant found engaging in acts that undermines this policy will be sanctioned.
The Head of Service categorically stated that eliminating corruption and restoring trust in the Service are tasks that must be accomplished and charged Civil/Public Servants to carry out Government operations with integrity and transparency.
