The Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN), Abia State Chapter, has expressed deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to Mayor Lucky Igbokwe, fondly known as Don Lulu, following the passing of his dear mother, Dame Peace Onyekwulechi Igbokwe, who departed this life on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the age of 60.

In a statement jointly signed by OMPAN Chairman, Chief Promise Uzoma Okoro, and General Secretary, Dr. Steve Unegbu, the association described Dame Igbokwe’s demise as “a monumental loss not only to her family and friends but also to the entire Umuawa Alaocha community, Umuahia, and Abia State at large.”

OMPAN members expressed solidarity with Chief Don Lulu and his siblings during this painful moment, praying for God’s comfort and strength to fill the vacuum her passing has created. They noted that her nurturing spirit, kindness, and motherly influence will be deeply missed.

“We take solace in the fact that Dame Peace Igbokwe lived a good and impactful life. Though gone too soon, her legacy of love, compassion, and service to humanity remains a shining light,” the statement reads.

Reflecting on the transience of life, OMPAN reminded all that death remains the inevitable end of every mortal — a reminder to live purposefully and leave lasting footprints of goodness.

“We urge Chief Don Lulu and his siblings to take heart and submit to God’s will, knowing that their dear mother rests peacefully in the bosom of our Lord and Saviour.”
