Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has inaugurated two key appointees with a clear mandate to deliver results or step aside.

Sworn in at the Government House, Umuahia, were Dr. Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Meribole as Special Adviser on Projects, and Rev. Dr. Annie Onu as Executive Secretary, Abia State Diaspora Commission.

Otti set the tone, warning, “We have zero tolerance for corruption and poor performance. Only the best is acceptable.”

Dr. Meribole, a retired Permanent Secretary from the Federal Ministry of Aviation, is already hands-on with the Abia Airport project. Otti expressed confidence in his expertise, stating the appointee had hit the ground running by engaging and monitoring contractors.

For Dr. Onu, now transitioning from a commission member to Executive Secretary, the Governor stressed her role in connecting the Abia diaspora with the state’s development efforts. “You already know the job,” he said. “Now you have the seal of authority.”

In their responses, both appointees pledged total commitment to Governor Otti’s vision and the state’s progress.

The ceremony drew top government officials and further reaffirmed the administration’s focus on merit, accountability, and high performance.
