NSCDC Abia Command Decorates 66 Newly Promoted Officers

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Abia State Command, on Friday, 16th January 2026, held a colourful and well-attended decoration ceremony in honour of sixty-six (66) officers who were recently promoted to higher ranks within the Corps.
The ceremony took place at the Command Headquarters in Umuahia and witnessed an impressive turnout of senior management staff of the Corps, officers and men of the Abia State Command, family members and friends of the promoted officers, as well as other invited dignitaries who came to celebrate the milestone achievement.

While delivering his address at the event, the Abia State Commandant, Commandant Akinsola Aderemi Ajose, expressed heartfelt congratulations to the newly promoted officers, describing their elevation as a testament to their hard work, discipline, dedication, and years of meritorious service to the Corps and the nation at large.
He also commended their resilience and commitment in the face of the demanding responsibilities associated with civil defence operations.
Commandant Ajose further acknowledged and appreciated the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, for his unwavering support, visionary leadership, and sustained commitment to the welfare, motivation, and career progression of officers and men of the Corps nationwide.

According to him, the leadership of the Commandant General has continued to inspire professionalism and excellence across all state commands.
The State Commandant reminded the newly promoted officers that promotion comes with greater responsibilities and expectations, charging them to see their new ranks as a call to higher service, increased accountability, and exemplary leadership.

He urged them to remain steadfast, professional, and disciplined in the discharge of their duties, while upholding the core values and operational standards of the Corps.

He also used the opportunity to encourage officers who were not promoted during the exercise to remain patient, focused, and committed to their duties.
Then,he assured them that promotion in the Corps is based on merit and due process, stressing that their efforts and sacrifices are recognised and would be rewarded at the appropriate time.
The ceremony climaxed with the formal decoration of the promoted officers amid cheers, applause, and goodwill messages from colleagues and loved ones.
