In a strategic move to unlock global investment opportunities and position Abia State as a leading industrial hub, Governor Alex Otti has inaugurated an 11-member steering committee for the upcoming Turkey-Abia (TURAB) Investment Summit and Exhibition, marking a new chapter in the state’s international trade relations especially with Türkiye.
The Governor Dr. Alex Otti officially inaugurated the Turkey-Abia (TURAB) Investment Summit and Exhibition Steering Committee at a ceremony held at the Government House, Umuahia.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, Governor Otti charged the 11-member committee with the crucial responsibility of identifying strategic areas for cooperation, facilitating joint ventures, and building sustainable trade partnerships between Abia State, other Nigerian states, and the Turkish investment community.
“The TURAB Summit is an opportunity to leverage the strong diplomatic and economic relations between Nigeria and Türkiye,” the Governor stated. “Abia especially Aba must be positioned as a leading destination for foreign direct investment and industrial growth in Africa.”
Governor Otti emphasized his administration’s commitment to transforming the state’s economic landscape, assuring the committee of full government backing to ensure a successful summit.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Investment Promotions and Public-Private Partnerships, Chief Green Amankwe was named as Chairman of the committee.
In his response, Chief Amankwe expressed gratitude to the governor for the trust reposed in the team and pledged the committee’s full dedication to delivering a world-class summit.
“The TURAB Investment Summit, scheduled for November 25–27, 2025, in partnership with Vega Growing Global Enterprises, will spotlight Abia’s enormous economic potential and attract both local and international investors to key sectors such as agriculture, textiles, leather production, energy, and infrastructure,” Amankwe said.

Also present at the inauguration was Chief Nwaka Inem, Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Investment, alongside other top government officials.
With preparations in full swing, the TURAB Investment Summit is expected to drive new waves of economic growth in Abia State, deepen Nigeria–Türkiye business relations, and elevate Abia’s global investment profile.
